Default Scooby newb....will i get flamed?

I really love this bbs... had my 04 wrx for 3 weeks now and been reading on here for 2 months before!!!

I was waiting for some pics....but...time...or....errr.... camera...or lack of!!!

Anyway....really enjoying the beast....BUT....

I really dislike the rear spoiler on the wrx.... i've never been a big fan of big spoilers.... but i dont think the MY04 model looks good with a tiny spoiler??? oh...please dont torch me... "you shud av bought an Sti then"

i'm thinking of getting the bigger spoiler same time as i get the PPP (A must!!)

Anyway...good crowd on here and i'll be here for the next 3 years prolly

and if anyone is interested.... i came from the delicate and tuneful world of Alfa Romeo

Regards,

George

Welcome George,

just about everyone agrees with you.

I have replaced mine with a Prodrive WR Sport one from Subaru (UK300 style) - looks great and worth a thought.

Also, try DR Motorsport as they make good quality ones, which fit straight onto your bootlid onto the existing holes AND are painted free of charge for you in advance of delivery or fitting.

I think.

Prodrive Spoiler is about £550 or so plus fitting and painting.

Just pay the money for a STi rear spoiler, £850 from your local scooby-doo dealer( ), but it certainly looks the berries. The PPP pack is superb as well. Should have bought a STi? Not for me thanks, this will do just fine

pfff not cheap then

Heres an unrelated thought..... I've heard u can get some decent remaps for wrx's... thing is will a remap alone(is it advisable to just get an engine remap without breathing apparatus?) invalidate my warranty? Can the dealers tell?

Cheers,

Gee

The Sti spoiler won't fit onto the WRX holes.

Remap will invalidate your warranty and you really need to do some exhaust work to get any benefit.

Full decat, remap and DR motorsport spoiler would be a good route. However, your warranty would be goosed. Oh yeah, and you need an understanding insurance company.

Ahhh, another ex-alfisti! I do miss the engine note of my old 2.0TS!

I must say I prefer to keep my bugeye WRX low key so the standard spoiler is fine by me. My first mod was a Prodrive back box which sounds nice and naughty.

But if you MUST have a bigger spoiler then this must be the one to go for!

If you want to retain your warranty, then i think the ppp is your only option

I can recommend dr motorsports. I have used them for a front lip spoiler (splitter).
Their products fit well and the colour match is very good, plus good service

Can i have my back hander now

Oh, and welcome to SN
