Hi all
I have been told that i can have my ECU programed so that it can run on 95oct.
What would be the pros and cons in doing so apart from cheeper fuel!!!! would there be any damage to the engine??
thank for any reply!!

Chu i presume your having the Possum Link remap and not, say a PE remap??...and i presume your in the UK given the reference to 95 & 97 ron fuels as your profile doesnt say where you are!
The pros are 1) cheaper fuel, 2) easier availability of 95 ron in more rural areas etc, 3) Larger safety margin on your engine generally as lower boost, less advance etc than if mapped for a higher ron.
The con is mainly that your not getting as much out of the car as you could (a Type R?) and most of the reason for buying the car is to enjoy the performance anyhow??....seems a shame to limit its potential if youre going to have it mapped anyhow.

Who are you going to get to do the remap ? as long as they get the ingnition and fuelling right then it should be ok . would recomend that you get a Knock link fitted very usefull tool .
