sorry to drag it on :(
i no there was a post on this very recently as i replied on it - just cant find it??
its regarding the warrenty / service - please can i get some help / clarification.
my car is due for it 4 year service. quotes for £500 inc VAT from subaru. have been told if i take car to non subaru i will loose my warranty (extended 2 years). phoned subaru warranty who confirmed this. i made it clear that there is no warranty work needed just a service but they said its no difference and i will invalidate the warranty.
anoying thing is i have been quoted app £150 less from an ex scooby garage

Apart from getting alternative quotes from other Subaru dealers I think you're stuck.....it would invalidate their warranty.

Its understandable really. Subaru have provided you with an extended warranty on the basis that they service and maintain your car during the warranty period.
Say something happened to your car just after it was serviced - the dreaded engine failure 2 seconds after an oil change scenario - Subaru won't want to honour the warranty as they could easily say it was the other garage that caused the problem so go back to them.
Conversely, I would imagine that if you went to Subaru and had a service and the engine went pop straight away and you didn't have that warranty in place, Subaru would say its your fault for driving the car too hard.
I've been quoted £400 for my MY00 60K service (its actually only on 53K). My car is out of warranty buts its from Dublin anyway (Its Sonic Blue though like P1 which is nice!) so it never had one in the first place. This service will be its first service outside of Subaru at a well respected local Subaru specialist who quoted £250 but will charge me even less has I've done some service items anyway (oils, filters, sensors etc).

Had the same thing last month, all you can do is ring around the main dealers and try to get a good price.
SIDC membership helps with it's 10% discount....
Good luck.

If you were withing the normal warranty period then you could go elsewhere, but as you have taken out a extended period witht them, then your tied to their contract...
