Default How fast?

What is Vmax (03WRX) on standard wheels and std rev limit not taking into account drag etc.

Thanks

BTK.

is that at the rev limiter?

No drag at all - so just the theoretical limit?

Yeah, thats what I mean. With 225bhp I dont think it will get to the limiter as the power drops off before it. Or maybe it does?!

221bhp actually

My dads old golf 1.8T got to 135mph (the book figure) and was nowhere near the limiter.

I had 142mph on Micropilot GPS the other day and ran out of space (private road of course).

I did not get anywhere near the limiter and I dont think the car had any more left in it. So with *no drag* what is the top speed on the limiter?

Does anyone know the diff ratio and I will go and work it out myself.

May I suggest on the way home tonight to note your speed at half the rev limit in top gear, then you're half way to your answer

24.7 per 1000rpm in 5th so redline would be 180+. However, with drag your show about 155 on the clock which is a true 145ish at about 5800rpm.

Well the answer is 168mph @7000rpm following a test with GPS tonight.

4mph less than the calculated reading using the 24.7mph/1krpm rule.

Any way about 170mph. +/- 2mph LOL!

The scoob has a speed limiter- the ecu will reduce boost at a preset limit. This was 148mph for my old MY99 until I had it ecutek'd and as a side order, the speed limiter was raised to 155mph. Never had it above an indicated 150 though...

I have had 144mph out of my 03WRX, I dont think it has a limiter though?

My 168 calculation came from 84mph at 3500rpm, gps verified.
