Default scoobie vs cossie

Has any WRX owner had previously a Sierra/Saphire Cosworth 4x4?
Is it very different?
Which do yo prefer?

Never owned a Cossie, but the quarter mile times in various posts and on sites suggest they run in the high 15's and a half decent Scooby will get down into the 13's, without many mods. Nuff said?

got a mate with a saph 4x4 and another mate with 94 wrx would have to say the wrx feels loads quicker than the saph but if u had to drive loadsa miles id choose the saph coz its well cumfy even with konis on they just seem a bit more refined than scoobies. It just depends what ur after, the cosworth engines a lot more tunable aswell if ur after serious bhp,ud end up starting with a 2.5 bottom end on a scooby 2 get close, oh yer and probably cosworth pistons lol.Dont get me wrong i own a scooby and love it to bits but to get stupid bhp ur looking at megabucks, scoobies at the end of the day are very good value for money, thats why there so popular and generally not that much trouble,i like cossies but think the sierras a bit old hat now whereas scoobies even the early ones dnt seem really to age that bad.

Cool

Had both m8 and out the box the scoob felt quicker, but cossys are easily tunable to 380 brake, had a standard escos which used to run low 14s all day where as p1s and imports seem to run mid 13s

A std Escort Cossie is 227BHP though in comparison to the P1's (and imports) 270+ BHP.

Lo Rob, you're losing count - it was 13 at Oulton a few months ago and you have done CC, Dono and Croft since

First of all, thanks for all your posts.

I have owned a cossie for 10 years and now I'm waiting for a new my05 wrx (ordered two months ago). Just if the scoobie makes me feel the same as the cossie, I'll be happy.

Must be honest, I was always a Ford fan. Always wanted a Cossie. Once I could afford one (year ago) I decided to get a scoobie, purely because I reckoned it would not attract as much attention in terms of being nicked (Can of worms!) however I had been warned off Scoobies as if their engine f&cks up, it's credit card time whereas a Cossie engine can be re-built in a morning (well maybe not!) Surprise surprise, my engine f&cked up a few months ago in my Scoobie. That said, the scoobie sounds much better (full de-cat afterburner) however the dump valves seem a better idea on the Cossies. In conclusion though, appart from the RS owners club cars, Cossie = NED. Sorry to any non neds who fall into this category of non RS members!!! Love em both!!!
