Question Keep the scoob or what?

Help....

What to do, I have a MY00 classic 5dr scoob. What to do next?

Do I get the PPP kit and keep it for another year or...

Do I sell it and buy an Audi S4 I've seen with a suspension upgrade and all the toys? OR

Do I keep the scoob as is and sell it next year and buy a bugeye with PPP?

Has anyone had experience of driving an S4? I would think it would be similar to the newest WRX, very smooth compared to the classic?

Any advice would be welcome.

spend a grand on better mods than the PPP, strip em down in a year or so and get a load of your cash back before selling a standard car

My advice, if you really like the car dont sell it unless you have to. IMO, there's not much that comes close as an all round package.

As peanuts said, PPP is ****, esp now your warranty is out. Get a full decat and a Tek2 and you will have a massive grin on your face - trust me

Wink

Try an Import you should be able to get a STi converted to UK fuel for the same Price as a WRX with PPP

5tuart, looked at an S4 last year before getting a WRX; have you got an insurance quote? When I phoned around they they wanted over 100% for the S4.

Question I just can't deside

Insurance is a bit more but not too much.

I think I need to drive one to see if is any fun, few people I've spoken too have said there is no feedback, plenty of grip but not much handling.

Nice inside though. But does it feel fast, the classic scoob feels quicker then a new WRX even though you can cruise 5 to 10mph faster on a run.

Can't make up my mind. The S4 a private sale and so I'd have to get it inspected and hpi'd and there’s no comeback on it. I also need to sell mine too.

I just can make my mind up, every time I think no I'll keep the scoob for a bit longer... I still think the S4 still £35K new. And it is the exact spec I'd want if I were going to have one. Black, sat nav, eibach suspension, BOSE sound system.

I'll probably stick with scoob less effort and risk of breakdowns and expensive repairs with a private buy.

I went through exactly the same anguish last year with my MY99. I test drove an S4, nice motor but boring in comparison with a standard scoob, and lots more money.....

So, I let the warranty go and got a full decat and a remap, better brakes, lights, clutch and a stiffer arb and believe me, it was the BEST thing I've ever done.

You get a beast with all of the niggles sorted, just for a couple of k instead of an extra 10 for a boring barge.......

Do it.....

Thumbs up Keeping Scoob

Thanks all that replied.

I am going to keep the Scoob and get a Magnex decat system put on it. Hopefully not too loud. Then next year I'll get a Tec2 and a panel filter. Should curb the need for something new.

Cheers

Default Magnex

I have the Magnex system on mine. Its not too loud but has a nice note to it. I bit of boot sound proofing gets rid of most of the noise you dont want in the cabin.

Glad to here your keeping it mate.
