Default Advice Please :(

Hi new to your forum and was wondering if anybody can help with some advice on my car. Its a MY98 Impreza turbo, when it was bought I was told it was a Prodrive version. Can anybody offer any explanation on what this is, thinking its exhaust and trim. Appreciate any advice

welcome to the BBS

By the sounds of it, at a guess, you've got UK Turbo with PPP (Prodrive Performance Pack).

It was about £1500 extra, and added a S/Steel exhaust (not too sure whether it's all 3 sections though), and ECU.

Made the car more powerful, whilst keeping warrantee intact.

Hope this helps, but more people will have detailed information - I'm off down the pub

Hmm, depends whether they were referring to "prodrive style" or "prodrive performance pack" The former could mean that the car has just some cosmetic additions from prodrive, the latter means that it has received their engine upgrade, which- I believe- was comprised of a custom exhaust, upgraded intercooler piping and a re-programed ECU. Took the car up to about 240bhp, if memory serves. It's very important that you determine whether your car does have the performance pack fitted for insurance purposes!

There 3 different types of Prodrive Pack.

1. Exterior
2. Engine
3. Interior

If you have the second one just check for blue intercololer pipework.
It should have Prodrive written on it. Also includes as Scoobydoo said a Prodrive 3inch backbox and Different ecu.

Check you manuals because I had a prodrive certifivate with mine so assume you will have the same.

Hi folks thanks for the replies. Yes it is a UK car. It has the higher spoiler, prodrive exhaust (back anyway) and the door mirrors and bottom of the spoilers and skirts are all colour cordinated with the car, if that helps identify it, does have prodrive written on the bottom right on the boot. Obviously this all I can see from just looking on the outside of the car. It wasnt helped that the people I bought it from really didnt know that much about it, as much as they loved the car

No sign of a certificate
