Warranties, servicing, prices, ARRRGH!!!!!
Right, I'm now officially confused.
I have a MY00 (W reg) classic turbo.
It's done 47,000 miles and had it's last service at 40,000. At that time I was told the cambelt service wasn't necessary 'till 60k/4 years.
60k/4 years are now up so it's cambelt service time.
Subaru dealership 1 quoted £650.
Subaru dealership 2 quoted £800.
Independant quoted £400.
But says I, it's still under warranty (extended), "no problem says independant, we're VAT registered and use original parts"
International Motors said "Nuffink to do wiv us mate, we farm out the extended warranties to another company"
'Warranty Company' says "your EXTENDED warranty will be null and void if you use an independant as we are underwritten by a seperate company to I.M."
So I'm guessing I go to dealership 1????
Any helpful ideas?
Cheers
Dave
