Red face WR1 shocker

Setting the scene.

It's Wednesday and we're having some garden furniture delivered. Delivery guys use the garage and as one of them (with a stack of chairs) enters the garage he hits the....

...garage door .

"Oops," says he, "Your garage door is low, you'd never get a batmobile in here."
I point to the WR1 and reply, "Well I got my batmobile in here ok."
Guy looks at the car and says, "Wow, cool car. What is it.....
.....
.....
a Proton?"

Still don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Very funny!

Can add to that but I fear it will only fuel the non-WR1 lovers... but who cares!

Parked on Tesco car park. Getting out car and gimp man walks past.

Gimp "Nice car mate"
Me "Thanks"
Gimp "Nice colour - did you spray it yourself?"
Me "No"
Gimp "Is it a Peugot 406?"
Me Tw@t

and walked off!!

Guys i'm not trying to be a funny ****** here or anything. But have you saw how many cars are actually on the roads which are the same colour as the WR1?

I nearly bought a WR1 by the way, had it ordered etc, but changed my mind about 1.5 weeks ago and told the dealer I didn't want it anymore.

Yeah but not many cars on the road get to see it for very long, unless they have a porsche or ferrari badge - which are the only cars which get close to it when having a gentle blat!

Used to own a proton satria too Phil - wicked little motor!! The reason I'm called the smurf - as apparently it looked like a smurf! Done the job and got me into scoobyville with it's good insurance rates for kiddies like me!

Guys,

You really trying to tell me that the WR1's the fastest thing ever.

What about the STI with PPP, doesn't it get to see it for very long ?

STI PPP is a subaru urban ... therefore doesn't get included in the 'Other Cars' bracket!

WR1 is the fastest thing around. Add a window sticker and some mudflaps and you get another 150bhp!

Hey urban, can I ask why you changed your mind ?
not because of the bitchy comments on here surely ?
and did you lose your deposit ? and how much ?
am I nosey ?

I agree about the colour. I now notice lots of other cars the same colour! But they are not scoobies. And other scoobies are not Ice Blue so it IS still pretty exclusive.

I might be biased though cos I should be picking mine up next week

Cold Turkey ... I've yet to see a car with paintwork anywhere close to the WR1 - some do bear a resemblance but as soon as you get close the difference can be seen

Gorgeous colour and the main reason I bought the car!

Definately not because of the ******** bitchy comments on here.

I still like the colour, just one of those things where you just happen to see lots of other cars the same colour I guess.....Bit like bus's and police.

You're not nosey, just curious

I didn't loose any deposit, cause I never gave one in the first place - my dealer is a good friend of the family.

Why did I change my mind, well mainly because of money. Just to give you an idea, i've got an MY02 STI (The prodrive style one), its got the PPP fitted also. This was bought around the time when IM slashed 2.5K off the fecking price etc, so basically to cut a long story short I got shafted for that.

Secondly, I don't think I was being offered enough for my car(which looking back he may have been more than fair actually), so I just thought that is going to cost too much to change.

Plus he had a wee talk to me, and sort of persuaded me to hang off until the new model arrives, then decide what to do next.

So there ya go.

colour might not in your opinion mate but the performance figures do!! 320ps and 0-60 in 4.2 seconds!! Not to mention the torque!! That's before modification!

before people go and start slating the figures as being untrue, I've tested them and another guy up on here has to and posted up the graphical and phsyical evidence!!

I think it was the 0-100 in 10.67 that caused most consternation....but Autocar got 4.59 / 11.39 for 0-60 and 0-100 so Prodrives figures can't be that wrong if at all (ideal conditions, low weight etc)

Didn't mean this to become one of those WR1 love/hate the colour threads. Just an amusing tale. Nothing more nothing less.

However, the colour is great.
Yes you do see similar colours around (206GTi6, Yaris, etc) but they're not the same.

Anyway, my proton's better than your's. Nah nah nah-nah nah.
