Beige in colour
Shaped like a Rover 75 / Jag (ish!)
Front badge was a lightning strike
Front air scoop was about 1/2 the height of a normal one.
Rear windows blacked out, but it was 4 dr
Rear end had light unit all the way across, with B4 or C4 or V4 badge on the left side and a small S U B A R U badge on the right side.
UK pates.
As quick as my WRX
Anyone any ideas?

Also known as the B4 Blitzen.
Blitzen is German for fast as lightning. It's a co-design between Subaru and Porsche.
Further evidence that Subaru are to switch their 'super car' marketing efforts from the Impreza to the Legacy???

There is one just like this that is going in the opposite direction when I go to work in the mornings - looks good. I wave but get a kind of "stop stalking" me glare back !
Its wierd - even from a distance it "looks" like a Subaru - maybe its the scoop....

The web link so kindly mentioned above shows some interior shots... and also an automatic gear box. Anyone no if they do a manual?
And what about approx cost? both the B4 and the Galant? and is the MPG just as silly?

I'm reliably informed that the B4 is currently undergoing homologation with International Motors with a view to having a UK-spec car available in the showrooms around Xmas 2000 / early 2001. Body shape is identical to the current UK model 2.5GX, with the exception of the bonnet which has the intercooler scoop. The Blitzen is a body-kitted Japanese version (and I've only ever seen red ones) which is not likely to make it to the UK unless IM are seriously pressed by us punters to make one available here too.
The "lightning strike" badge on the front of any B4 seen in this country at present is just the Jap "Legacy" badge (my '96 Legacy RS has it) - actually an "L" and an inverted "L" below it (just as Jap-imported Imprezas have an "I" in place of the Subaru star constellation.
Haven't heard of a P2 ....

They are a nice car to drive too. I did about 3000 miles in a manual one last year. Not quite as quick as my old WRX but a lot more comfortable. Porsche tuned the Suspension and did nothing to the engine. The deal was that they worked on the suspension and Subaru help them with their engines. Yep you read that right. Get one in the Gold Mica Much more road presence. The twin turbos make it feel slow from the inside as they almost completely eliminate the lag. It still goes from A-B bloody quick though.

I've driven my mates one quite a bit when doing chase car for him on rallies. The semi-auto box can be very jerky in manual mode - especially on down changes - although the steering wheel buttons are quite good. Also if in normal auto, the kick down can get all confused as the turbos get out of sync with the gear selection.
It certainly handles well though, but feels sooo slooowww at accelerating compared to my WRX. Saying that I'd rather be in a B4 on a long run (especailly when I'm not paying the petrol!).

Park Lane at Alton, Hampshire (http://www.park-lane.co.uk) have new B4RSKs from 24,995 and pre-owned from 19,995 up. I bought my RS-B from them and the service I received from Richard Duveen was excellent.
