Default ATTEMPTED CAR JACK LAST NITE

Just mooching around last nite about half 10ish, 3 fellas in a dark coulerd vauxhall cavalier K registered. in the farnworth area at the top of mort lane just for the ones of you who know the area. the cav came flying past me and swerved into my path, before I knew it there was one my side and one at the passenger side thankfully my missis and baby wernt with me. i had the doors locked but the window was open so he put his hand in and opend it from the inside next thing i knew i was being dragged out the car with my face smashed in the floor, adrenalin took over and i managed to push the ******* away and get myself back into the car, slammed it into reverse and flew back into the junction, if thats not enough they then followed me but obviously being in scooby left them.
It took 4 hours for the police to come and take a statement (and what good will it do i ask!!!) and then another 2 hours in the hospital to be told to clean my own wound (what do we pay tax's for??)

Word of warning to all.... lock your doors and keep your windows up

Default Sorry to hear mate

My mate lives in the Farnworth Area with my wifes sister. Thinking of getting an impreza and allowing the misses to drive it. Never really thought about car jacking. Not that she would be driving at that time of night, but she would be driving in Farnworth. Something to think about.

hope you ok

Someone mention car jacking

Been there just recently, so i know how you feel.
It makes me sick that we cannot drive our cars around these days without some low life thinking they can just take it
I have just had a blackjax fitted to my car, on top of all the other security, but we should'nt have to go to such measures.

If its on any consolation, the scumbag that carjacked me, just got sent down for 5 years.

sorry to hear its happened to you to mate im glad to hear that they got sent down. I couldnt really remember much about what happened so i couldnt really give a good description to the police it happened that quick so i dont hold much hope for anybody being caught.

i totally agree with you about the security measures, why should we???

hope you were ok

Mine happened at 1:15pm in a residential area with loads of people about.

I ended up being dragged down the road by my own car and finished with a broken arm and a metal plate holding it together

Have a read here

Glad you're OK Zool - horrible story. Like DJ I've got the auto lock feature enabled on the alarm - close the door, put the key in the ignition and the central locking will activate. Very useful feature in my opinion. We've had a number of similar incidents at work in Slough. So much so that we are now told by the company not to drive with windows open and lock doors before leaving the car park. Sad state of affairs

Incidently, if anyone wants the instructions for turning on the auto lock feature on the Sigma M30 - send me a PM with your email address.

Zool, I'm sorry to hear that but really pleased to read you were able to fend them off and make an escape. There was a car jacking in Warrington recently (vaguely reported on SN) but we don't know much about it as the victim isn't on ScoobyNet, and Farnworth isn't that far from Warrington. Is there any chance it was caught on CCTV?

sorry to hear about that mate, i always make sure that when i'm at traffic light etc there is enough room for me to get away! also got a maglight next to me!

in february i had some w'kers come into my house try to get my 03wrx. lucky for me my keys were in my bedroom and i was sitting in the lounge watching tv and this little w'ker opens the front door looking for my keys, never seen some1 run so fast! then they nicked a z3 and focus 170 within 10 mins!

was quite lucky, front door is always locked now! and scooby in the garage all the time. to all the w'kers!

Well done for getting back in! It's crap that you have to worry about this sort of thing happening.....

Not sure the police will do much good though.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal Zool, I'm from round that area and am often up on the A6, I am also glad you are Ok and the gits didn't get away with your car or even more so do any damage to yourself.

Sadly this is not the first time I have heard of such an incident at Four Lane Ends, there was another report of a pretty much identical scenario some 6 months ago.

Makes you think... ...makes you paranoid, when all you want to do is drive a good car.

Shi*, I was looking at buying a house off Mort Lane... not now!

Anyway, would quite fancy them having a go with me - they will find out what it feels like to be punched in the pelvis by a 1300kg fist
