Not sure about cost, but they are easy to fit on the early models - not had much experience with 2000+ models

About £80 for a MY95 model. Very easy to fit and lasts about 80,000 miles from my experiance. I've replaced two so far. You know when they're on the way out as the car dosn't start first time when it's warm. Eventually it will fail to start at all. When it got to this stage the last time, I ended up keeping a spare 10mm socket spanner with me in the car. When it wouldn't start, I would take it out and let it cool for a bit. Then put it back and start the car stright away

You may be able to pic a second hand one up for about £40, but you don't know how old it is or how long it's got left in it. Could be 60,000 miles... or 60 miles....
