This should either test the grey matter and get the anoracks some more brownie points.

I'm looking to find the basic specs for the WRX Sti version 1 cars, which I believe were fully built WRXs taken from Subaru and then moddified by Sti. This as far as i'm aware was a short run in 94 only before the cars were modded prior to completion 95 on.

Did they have the red top motor or were just some of the internals changed?

Was water spray fitted to all the cars?

Etc etc

Please only factual info no guessing please, I'd rather this not turn into an argument about others opinions.

The 1st STI was based on the wrx but then taken & modded by STI. Highly tuned,blueprinted engine with forged pistons & lightweight hydraulic valves, polishished intake ports, remapped ecu, intercooler water spray, silver intercooler, fujitsubo exhaust system & strut brace. Manifold is normal silver finish red manifold was introduced on version 2. Same gearbox as wrx.

STI chassis plate on offside suspension tower with build No/date.
Came in red ,silver & black.

Very releiving that! Was getting conflicting info but majority of it was because everyone quoted the version 2 specs. The Model numbers etc on mine match up but was put off by some diss-information.
