URGENT HELP PLEASE...how much can i cut off of the turbo heatshield?
i've got a cut away heatshield to fit over my decat pipe, the other day it started buzzing/rattling a bit so off it came today.
problem is i sheared one of the lower bolts and now i've fixed the original rattle, i've now got a new one where the bottom flaps about.
hopefully if i cut it down about halfway this should cure it, but there are two pipes running along that side (coolant pipes?) and will things get too hot if i remove this much of the shield?
basically, is it ok to just have enough heatshield to just cover the turbo or do these two pipes need protecting also?
cheers

I think the main issue with the turbo heat shield is the clutch master cylinder that's right above it.
The first car I decat I carefully cut the heat shield so as much as possible was coverered up.
When I got my current car an MY 99 STi it woz already decat and pretty much all of the shield woz removed except the top bit, and it's been totally fine. It just sits on like a little hat.

Right up to where the bottom half and top half would've joined.
Does make light work of getting it on and off though as there only about 3 bolts holding it on and they're all at the top.
I've had the car for a good 6 months now and not had any trouble with anything along those lines.
