Default Tow bars???

Just checking all my options out here.

I want to start towing my track car around. Its too much for the old girl to expect it to do the 1,000 mile round trip to the Nurburgring ever month or so.

So what are my options?

Tow bar on the back of other halves Audi A3 ...trouble is its only the 1.6 model and its brand new.
Tow bar on my MY03 STi hmmmmmm

I then have to rent or borrow a trailer but that can be done easy enough.

What are tow bars like these days? I really dont take any notice of them. Can they be removed when not in use? Do they leave massive holes? etc etc, you get the idea.

I really dont want to use the scoob but if i cant find another Cheap way out the scoob it may have to be,,,,,,,

My mate's towbar can be removed by undoing the 2 big nut and bolts that secure it to the cradle, thats bolted onto the subframe/chassis.

5 minutes and its off and you can't see it.

Why not sell the Scoob and get something nice like a 330d? Or did you just want the fastest tow car in the world?

I had the Subaru accessories removeable towbar on my MY02STi and it was hardly visible when off, small square cover over the bracket and the electric socket, both tucked up level with the rear valence.

Then I asked for the same to be fitted to my current 04 car and it's even better! The bar now is U shaped and the socket is completely out of sight up under the valence. The electric socket is on a spring loaded hinged plate. When the bar's not fitted and the electric socket hinged up they are totally out of sight, no sign it's fitted at all.

You don't need the sign in the back window any more that says "I tow a race car, I don't own a caravan".
