Default ** Car jacking scam, please read! **

just received this email off a mate, please read it.

This is from a Manchester Police Officer - Beware of a new car-jacking
scam

Imagine you walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside.
Then you lock all your doors, start the engine and shift into reverse. You
look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your parking space and you
notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window.

So, you unlock your doors and jump out of your car to remove the paper
(or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.... When you reach the
back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. Your engine would be running (Ladies would have their handbag in the car) and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

Please be aware of this scheme that is now being used

Just drive away and remove the paper from your window later and be
thankful you read this notice.

Please inform all friends and family, especially women. A handbag
contains all identification and you certainly do not want someone knowing your home address, as they already have your keys!!!

Another reason why your car's bodywork should be hard-wired to a 240V electricity supply instead of CAT1/Tracker pi$h!

Like the flat tyre at the trafford centre one ?

Thanks anyway tho

They could attach the note after you'd got into the car but before you looked around anyway, always reverse into parking spaces for a quick getaway.

Wouldn't you notice it when you approached the car to get in it
Someone in Richmond, Yorkshire left something under my wiper a couple of months back. I noticed it after driving off. I wasn't going to stop until I noticed it was about the SIDC Someone on this site must know something about that one

Aw! Don't be daft. It's just that a lot of things like that get posted here. I guess some could be true, but there's a little cynic in all of us at times.

Seriously Mr_Manchester - post any important news on here but please check the urban legend site first as more often than not its a spam mail that just creates hysteria and serves no purpose but to propagate itself round the internet on the back of good people who like to spread the word to help others. You are one of these good people but as this email is virtually word for word like the one in the States you have to admit it's bull.

What gets me is the people who writes and initiates this crap, they must be the saddest kind of person I can think of.

I can understand faked virus warnings etc, as that creates a common conception that most virus warnings are fake (which in honesty -they are), so when an attacker releases a new virus they have more chance of it being ignored and staying in the wild before being detected.

But stuff about notes on the screen to make you get out of a car, who thinks this sh!te up? probably some silly desk jockey or computer nerd with absolutely no life outside of a computer
