Question Constantly changing your car: a cry for help?!

I'm sure that there are plenty of people who've had many more, but since I passed my test 14 years ago I must have had 25 cars. The thing is, I always have a good reason... more space, getting married, kids, mortgage, etc, etc. but still seem to be always looking. Longest yet is a RB5 WRSport (18 months) and I miss it like hell. Am I substituting for something missing in my life? was I smacked once too often as a child?!
Does anyone else suffer from this dreadful affliction?

Yes - though not as bad as you. In the last 10 years I've had:

Toyota Corolla
Morris Minor Pick Up
Triumph Dolomite
Mini 1275 GT
1700i Beetle
1200 Beetle
1969 Camper Van
1303 Beetle
Scirocco
2CV
Fiat Bravo
Golf GTI
BMW 318i
FTO
Shogun v6
Galant v6
Merc 230 SLK
Merc C240 Estate
Subaru Forester

Now I want something else. Actually I am finding that Subaru ownership helps. If the urge to chop gets too bad I can buy a new bit to add on

What a great thread! Makes me feel conservative!!

Have always felt slightly "guilty" about the number of times I change vehicle........ covering 20-25k miles per year, there always seems to be a reason to justify a change!

Last 5 years:

1... MY04 UK STI (current)
2... Toyota Land Cruiser LC4 (slow, but truly class)
3... Volvo V70 D5 SE (not slow, but truly not class)
4... MY01 bugeye WRX wagon (one of the first in the UK: never had so many people rubberneck!)
5... Golf GT TDI PD 115 (cracking all-rounder at the time)
6... Ford Puma 1.7 (finest steering ever; mates only ever cadge a lift once!)
7... VW Polo 1.9D (utter sh*te, but I was a poor student at the time)

Long live this thread!!!

Smile Lol at this thread

I have had;

1. 91 Mini Cooper (kept 3.5 years, having a loan made me keep it)
2. 98 Pug 106 gti (kept 18 months, bought brand new lost £6.5k!)
3. 00 UK spec Scoob (kept 18 months, sold due to loomimg redundancy)
4. 94 Rover Montego Countryman (fookin ell, never let me down though)

Got my redundancy and went straight into another job

5. 00 Lupo SDi
6. 03 Impreza WRX STi (JDM) (Well the redundo money never even touched my bank account )

Running Lupo as second car, $hite compared to scoob, so trade it in;

7. 96 BMW 525i SE Touring.

Running BMW as second car, $hite compared to scoob, so sell it, like **** they the 'ultimate drivers car';

8. 96 VW Golf Est TD.

At this moment I am running the JDM scoob (ain't getting rid of that) and the golf.

On Saturday I am going to look at a UR Quattro, so golf maybe replaced by a UR Quattro tommorrow.

As the second car to the scoob I am comptemplating buying 4th car in 7 months.

I once had 9 cars in one year.

It was 1975, and for the life of me I can't remember them all, but they did include:

A-H Sprite (or three)
Lotus Europa Twin Cam
Escort Mexico (or two)
Cortina 2000 GT
MG Midget

I ended up with a Mk 1 RS 2000 which I kept for 9 years.
