Question Japanese imports

Hi all

I'm think of returning to the Subaru fold in the guise of a high performance estate. I'm not that taken with the looks of the Impreza wagon but I do like the look of the Legacy GTB.

What are the pros and cons of running a Japanese import? I'm thinking in terms of:
- insurance
- maintanance
- warranty

Cheers

I was looking at one the new gt spec b saloons, but struggled to get a sensible or straight insurance quote (29 years old, full no claims). Also buying second hand (was looking at a 2003 plate) worried me as the warantee was an aftermarket jobby. When spending £20k on a car i would like some decent come back! In the end i knocked the idea on the head and went for a new uk wrx.

Give group20 a ring, they were really helpful. Also David Hendry have got both a saloon and wagon spec B demonstrators, although they are rather expensive.

Thanks mate - that's what I thought. Looks like I may have to learn to love the shape of the wagon.

I have a 2001 B4 RSK

Whilst not a £20,000 car, it is Group 20 insurance I paid

£1100.

Although you are not me !!

They are essentially Impreza engines, most specialists will and can service it no problem, although you main dealer will not be that helpful.
