Default Help! Problems with 03WRX

Had my 03 WRX serviced on Thursday. Its maybe a 4 mile drive to the dealer so on the way back did not get to use full boost.

Anyway on Friday avo I drove a good 200miles and all the way it felt *very* sluggish and was not coming onto full boost - maybe feels like only 150bhp max.

Today I had a look at the car and noticed the fan is on all the time...??

Just been out for a drive - maybe 40 mile round trip and car is doing the same. Then the engine warning light came on?!!!

I turned the engine off and then restarted and its still no boost but the EWL went out. Fan still on.

Its done 18k miles and is a year old so still in warranty - any ideas to cause.

Problem is I am not 200+ miles away from the dealer and will have to drive it for around 4 hours to get back - not sure this is a good idea.

More than likely to be water temperature switch has failed or poorly connected; if they did an antifreeze chane it may also be an airlock....

Dont Bother driving it there, Call Subaru Assist as you are still under warranty on 0800 777 127, they will come out to you, and should facilitate a replacement car for you whilst yours is off the road.Good Luck Mate

I really could do without having the car taken away etc - I am really busy with work right now.
Problem is I am some 200 miles from my place of work - and once I leave for work I dont return for a full 7 days.

So if they take the car to the local dealer today then I wont be able to collect for a week.??

Where is the water temp sender located?

Cheers

You must call subaru assist... if the car goes bang you'll be without for a long time!!! it may only take 2 minutes to sort out... I'm wondering whether the ecu reset leads are joined under the dashboard????

No dealership would need to join the wires under the dash, the diagnostic tool would plug into the port & you can do a reset that way.......still you never know

As others have said call Subaru Assist...........its not worth playing around

Just called them - they are on their way.

Have been driving 50k+ miles a year for 7 years and this is the first time I had to call the aa type people out... I just hope I did not get a Friday car...

The fan comes on when aircon turned on. Turn it off and then see what happens.

Hi

Subaru assist just left. Car is going to have to go to the main delaer.

It showed codes 102,103+113.

The MAF is faulty.

The dealer dont have one in stock at the moment so I am going to have to let them recover the car as I am off on a business trip tomorrow for a week.

Hmm, not exactly great service so far.

Car is still sitting at home, they were booked to come and pick the car up at 8am, they call at 8:45 to say they will be >9am.

GF had to go to work so not even on the way to the dealer yet!
