FAO WR1 Owners..Question
How long have you had your WR1?
How many miles have you done?
What are your views on the car?
Just wondering what other people are thinking.
Cheers

I've put a few pages together on the www.scoobysmacs.co.uk site. I'll be keeping these updated.
Also some thoughts on the forums at http://www.amita.uk.net/forum/index.php
Basically it's an awesome car. Very different from my classic (i'd never driven a new age prior) and i've done > 1000 miles but < 2000.
Still getting used to it. It pulls like a train in the mid-range and sits very snug to the road.
Everyone who has seen it likes the colour as do I. The DCCD (Diff) is a strange piece of kit and you can feel the power going to the front wheels when pushing hard.
It's a very fast car. I got 30 MPG while running it in. Pulls from 3000 RPM right through to just under 7 (tails off then).
You pays ya money and takes ya choice - I'm very happy with my choice

1200 miles
Had the car just over a month now. First service completed but I'm limiting the car at 5000rpm for a few more miles, then 6000rpm for a couple of hundred miles more before allowing myself the whole rev range.
Already the difference pre/post service is amazing. I would say fourth gear will be the one most used in real world driving - it pulls very well
Car feels much more solid than the RB5 it replaced, although the initial steering (1/8th of a turn or so) seems more vague. However once you chuck it into a corner it digs in and then some. In fact on one of my regular corners I find I have to take off some of the steering input mid way through.
Exhaust note sounds great too.
I've even got used to the stereo (which is abysmal - like listening to the stereo in the car in front of you)
Overall very pleased with my purchase thus far.

Only chalked up 200 miles & had it for 1 week. Compared to my old 99my, it's well put together & the interior is a big improvement. Even my mother commented that the doors shut with a nice "clunk"! Haven't quote got used to the seats, the car could do with steering reach adjustment to get the driving position exactly right. The exhaust note is very deep - probably best for pregnant women not to stand too close to it. Stuff like the seats & steering wheel are really nice. The stereo is really terrible, I don't know why IM bother to put one in at all! They could leave a blanking plate there & knock the £25 value off the car price! Driving quick(ish) with the 4k rpm limit is pretty difficult, so it's hard to give any thoughts on the performance yet.

Just a curious question to you guys that have one...
Would you have the Geomitry re-done at say Powerstation ?
I have had mine done there on my bugeye and it has transformed to handling of the car completely... ok it's a Sport but the same tramlining happens on the bugeye WRX etc.... I could not hold mine in a straight line in the end as the tyres wore so badly.... it is a Subaru "thing" from what everyone comments about, and I am curious to see if it still comes into play on the WR1's or have Subaru really tightened up on this particular charactoristic.
Cheers
