hows the WR1 going?

How would you compare it with an 04 STi PPP with regard to ride and performance?

Clive has a new style of front strut brace from prodrive for his WR1. He bought this on the back of driving the the prodrive WR1 which had the strutbrace fitted. He says the brace made a difference. I'll let you know how he get's on with it.

General concensus of opinion on strut braces on new age cars is that the chassis is so rigid you won't really feel any benefit unless the suspension is particularly stiff. The WR1 obviously has the Prodrive springs, so it may well prove worthwhile, just. May be better off doing the droplinks and considering stiffer ARB's. with those fitted you will certainly justify the braces.

Have to agree with you i have a MY02STiPPP & Prodrive Springs fitted Front strut brace no noticable difference.

The Type "C's" etc would though due to Subframe differnces IIRC

IMHO

I fitted front and rear STi braces to my STi9 and the combination definately made a difference however not as much as the same when fitted to the more flexible Sti5. Still worth doing.

Lonegranger, I'm still waitng for the Wr1, it should be about a week or so.[it was 1 week 2 weeks ago Turkish]
I have decided to go for the braces, front and rear [the bike can get tyresnext month]
and the droplinks at a later date, they dont look as cool as "pink anadised" strut braces.
But dont tell the wife!!!!!!

I fitted just the front strutt brace about a month after getting my MY03 STi. The buggest difference I noticed was a huge reduction in tramlining. It also seemed to reduce the understeer and improved turn-in!

I have an 04 sti with prodrive springs and have been thinking of getting a strut brace, but having read this i am now unsure.

What is the drop link, and how does it work?

Basically, what is the best thing for me to do without hurting the warranty?

Front and rear strut braces?

Cheers in advance,

Andy

Jagman,
I'm getting the braces from the dealer, on the subaru uk web site they are £475 for the pair, the dealer will do them for £420 about 12% discount.

Loneranger,
the car is a UK WR1, sorry for any confusion.
