Angry £35 for a tiny bit of plastic!!!

Just phoned up subaru for the little plastic chip guards that go on the rear arch, I was thinking maybe £15 for the pair tops, but i should've remembered i own a scooby. £35 for the pair? What a bloody rip off.

By the way, the guy on the phone said i'd need 2 holes for them to fit, i thought they just stuck on. I've a my93 so i haven't got holes in my arch, do you think i could just cut the bits off and then stick'm on

How about £538.00 for a throttle return spring on a 2003 WRX / STi.!

The [green coloured ] one on the throttle shaft itself cannot be bought separately and comes complete with a new throttle body.

Probably the most expensive Subaru insignificant part.

Try 3855 pounds plus VAT for a gearbox rebuild from main dealer on a UK 99 turbo

told them to shove it and dumped the car

Armourfend could probably do you some clear plastic stick-on strips for a lot less than that.

As an example a pair of mirror backs was only a tenner. They did strips that run part way round the back edge of my rear wheel arches as well.

Failing that if you watch Blue Peter you can do wonders with a yogurt carton & some PVA glue.

You could get one made from a specialist spring maker for less than that!!

AND, get about 100 'Spares' ..... sell 'em for £30 each!!

The throttle spring will be available as an individual part..

although not to you..

its just subaru,s way of limiting its inventory and making money..

Yep, every business is the same I am afraid. I own a photocopier company and some of the prices would make Subaru look cheap. £65 + vat dealer price for a 10 mm white nylon gear - £130 + vat to the customer !
