Just doing a little bit mroe investigation, and it's dawned on me that my STI knowledge, is a little rusty!!

I'm aware that there was a Type 'A' - the first release, then there was the Type 'B' revsion - mostly cosmetic admendments.

However, I'm finding it difficult to find any information on the actual differences between the JDM version and the UK - they both look the same, but the JDM comes with tinted glass. Power? Engine spec etc?

All you Type UK/JDM owners - any chance of you filling in the gaps?

I'm referring to the "bug eye" not the new one (cattle-catching scoop et al! )

Not 100% sure, but:

- The original Japanese STI looked much like the UK non-Prodrive edition
- Power was up slighty at 280bhp vs 265 thanks to some fairly small internal differences (cams?) and a freer flowing exhaust
- Japan has always had DCCD-A, electric folding mirrors, rear wash/wipe and other toys.

This has a little info, biggest difference was standard Uk car has 265PS compared to 280ps JDM, the PPP has a different exhaust with a cat removed and a sports cat in the downpipe and a fiddled with ECU to give 300BHP
