It depends on what you want really
The Spec C is probably the ultimate out of the factory car for performance and handling, its very raw and not for the light hearted though but it does have a brother, the GL which is a little more comfortable (ie it has things like electric windows and soundproofing ), both these cars are japanese domestic imports only though (grey imports).
You then have Litchfields hybrid, type 25, based upon either of the above but with a 2.5ltr engine and a different suspension setup for the uk roads, possably the best none factory car out there
This then brings it down to the uk cars, the WRX and the Type UK STi of which the WR1 is a variant.
The STi is a very good compromise, great handling and ability but lacking behind the japanese cars in technological advancements in the engine and other mechanical area's, the WR1 is sort of an inbetween both the Type UK and the JDM cars, having some of the mechanical advancements but none of the engine advancements, a bit of a hybrid in its own way, just not quite as complete a package as the first 3 ive mentioned but it does handle slightly better than the standard UK STi due to the A-DCCD it comes with
That leaves the WRX, a compromise of everything, comfort, performance, running costs etc, a good all round package as cars come, handles good, drives good, goes round corners good but which one does actually go round the corners the quickest? Evo proved that was the Spec C, but not much in it between that and the Type 25
