Angry How much for a 60,000 service?

I went to my main dealer for the big service today, everything as per the book (cam belt done on last service) with only windscreen wipers on top. I was going to go independant but thought that as it's just exiting warranty it would be better to go main dealer.

Anyway, what should I have expected to pay?

My dads sport was £400+ for his 60K service at Quenbys. he decided that he was not going to pay 400 od quid for a service, so he went to a local garage and paid something in the regon on 200 quid - half price.

Yes, mine was over 550. Had a mate with me who I was taking to the airport - he runs a 993 and laughed saying it's cheaper running a Porker.

Worst thing is that they're a great bunch at my garage and the loan car was a PPP which was superb, now I know I've got to get an upgrade. BTW, the MY04 PPP had Prodrive springs and the Brdgestones, didn't think much to the handling, nowhere near as good as mine with Eibachs and F1's.

:-)

Forgot to add that mate with 993 thought that the PPP exhaust sounded like a tractor - but I loved it. He also thought that Scoobies wear well, said mine at 60k drove and looked like 6k :-)

Mines off on thursday for it's 66,000 service, and the garage said between £150 and £200 for that, something to help the pain

Mike

I had my 60K service today on my MY01. Xtreme Scoobies did the work and charged me £380 (excl air filter, which I had already changed). It is quite comprehensive, with just about every fluid in the car being changed (and new spark plugs). Whole thing was done in about 2 1/2 hours (while I waited and drank Knowlsey's coffee ).

Couldn't have been easier and I don't have a problem paying it when I know that it has been done properly and with care.

Chris (agree Eibachs and F1s rock )

Doh! That would have been £200 in the kitty for the upgrades. Anyway, much as I like my main agent I'll be checking out Xtreme and the other well liked indies. I travel loads so not a problem to make a journey to have the next service.

Ho hum.

Is that Xtreme in Dudly? If you go there would you kindly post about your experience there as I was thinking about them when I part with my money for a scooby

Matt_Turbo_2000 - It kinda depends, apparently they changed the interval for doing all the belts etc on the MY00, so you now get hit at 60K rather than 45K or something. You need to check the service history to be sure. It should be 60K but some have had them done at the pre-MY00 interval. Mine hadn't so the biggie is 60K, then reasonably plain sailing until the 120.
