Talking Thames Valley Police in sensible speeding policy shocka! (god blees em).......

Wohoooooo!

Got the plain brown envelope from Banbury this morning.

Oh no! I thought It's another speeding ticket and I've only just got one.

<opens letter warily>

Phew It's to do with the previous one, well I knew this was coming.

<read ons in an improved mood>

WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO! Offer of Speed Awareness Workshop

Basically, would you like to pay an extra fiver on your fine, spend three hours on our course and not get any points. (Offer only applies to those who've not been on the course before - No and with less than 8 points - 0)

errrr......

Yes please, Mr Policeman

It's about the first time I've been impressed by Police speeding policy - Well done to the Thames Valley Police for such a sensible approach I say.

It's good to see that despite massess of evidence to the contray, there is still some common sense left in some Police force's traffic departments.

TV scamvan ticket office is over-run at the moment, they are doing this to allow them to catch up.
its all luck as to whether your ticket falls into the ticket office monkey's in-tray or the tray marked "pending", remember they only have 6months to lay paper with the court or they lose that fine.
cynical? thats as maybe.

3 hour course..... bet you get double points if you sit at the back and heckle. Don't forget to memorise all the ABD arguments about speed kills lies, damn lies and statistics before you go.

Lancs police run a similar type of thing up here! Pay £90.00 spend a day on a speed awareness course including a drive out. No points, but only if your under 35mph.
