Question for PS Lewis...
...from another classsic wagon owner, suffering from trim-shimmy and related mental illness brought on by rattles in my car!!!
Hello Pete, hopefully you'll pick up on this thread.
I've got a MY99 turbo wagon that needs trim attention. I vaguely remember a thread where you mentioned you'd cured your wagon of rattles.
My car has them coming from (I think) the trim surrounding the rear windows. The trim itself looks like if I took it apart, it'd fall to bits and never fit together again. Strangely, the trim around the HiFi head unit squeaks like *uggery when I decelerate. Car has the original head unit.
Did you use double-sided tape to re-fix your trim?? Has your fix worked, long-term??
Cheers

Gina - If your wagons anything like mine its pretty much the whole tailgate that rattles!! on mine its because it isnt tight against the black rubbers on either side... Stick something a few mm think to the rubbers (draft excluder tape for doors??) and see if that stops it.. If it does then it'll maybe just want adjusting..

If i recall, monsieur lewis wedged strips if rubber between the panels. my my99 wagon also rattles, I think it is where the extra trim is in the backend as it's not all one piece. you kinda get the saloon interior trim plus an extra piece.
Haven't got round to trying it on mine yet, but it should do the job
