Porting Standard Headers

Default Porting Standard Headers

I want to remove my OBX headers and refit the standards.

While they are off I thought i might try and get them ported.

Im assuming it is a case of separation and opening up/matching to the hole size in the gaskets?

Anyone had a set done?

Anyone know a good Die-grinder blokey in Kent?

Do it yourself, mate. R.S.Components sell carbide cutters for about £15, iirc, took me about 2 hours, if that. All I did was open the manifold ports out so that they were slightly larger than the marks left on the gaskets, and then flowed them as far as I could reach. Can't say what difference this made on its own, as I fitted the janspeed uppipe and downpipe at the same time. However, the car is now probably quieter than standard, which porting the standard headers supposedly contributes to. Surprising discrepancy in sizes between head and exhaust manifold port sizes. Hope this helps!
