Default Canvassers for car sales

Currently have my car advertised in Autotrader and getting the usual round of calls from advertisers who will guarantee to get buyers round at the weekend. Usual line of "we have buyers currently looking for your type of car".
Charge of £60 to £70 which is a bit steep.

Was wondering if anyone else has ever used these sites and how they got on.

Company called automatch are the most persistent. Has anyone on site ever used them

I think you'll find that they usually take your money and do somewhere between very little and nothing.

DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!!!

They are the biggest thieving scum bags you could come accross and their persistnecy shows how much of a con they are.

I was foolish enough to believe they might actually sell my old car and I never got a single phone call!! I went to visa claimed the money back and now they have come back and said Automatch's trade was fine and are claiming the money back.

They car is still up there now and it was sold 8 months ago!! still no phone calls!! lol!!

They are thieving scum and I hope their building burns down!! Do me a favour, when they next ring just give them a big f**k off and goodbye.

Same here I got nothing at all for my money Don't bother and sell it yourself.

If you want to waste £60 I'll give you my account number and you can pay it in there

Do not use automatch!

My brother fell for the same scam.

By LAW you are entitled to cancel the (or any other unsolicited telesales) transaction within 7 days of it taking place.

http://www.publictechnology.net/modu...rticle&sid=162

The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, commonly referred to as the Distance Selling Regulations (DSRs) came into force on 31 October 2000 giving new rights to consumers in the area of home shopping (where there is no face to face contact such online sales, mail order, telesales). Under the regulations consumers have additional rights including rights to: clear information, a seven day cooling off period and further protection against fraudulent use of a credit card. The regulations provide that consumers who receive unsolicited goods or services have no obligations to pay for them
They used the exact same selling pitch to this guy. . .

So please avoid like the plague
