I think the most (rip-off price) is the Impreza STi spoiler at a cost of £895 -900 quid and u need to buy an addiational part the torsion bar, so even more money just for a piece of plastic to be honest. what a RIP-OFF!

big money in car parts, were parts and accessories not actually the only part of the ford business keeping it all running when they were losing money on every new car sold

Must admit I found this hard to swallow too, so got a set of Ferodo DS2500's for a few quid more (£135). I believe the dealers sell these exact same pads badged as 'Prodrive' pads for £185 !!

there used to be a list or link on one of the other marques sites that gave cross comparisons to common parts used...

ie xxy alternator used on ......ford xx rover xx jag xx

it covered a large range of parts ie brake pads disks/ electrical items...

prhaps some of the members with other vehicles may be able to track it down

Biggest rip-off has gotta be rally style mudflaps. £350 from dealers Even the aftermarket suppliers want £160 FFS. For a flat piece of plastic. I've just been in a carpet showroom today, and I could have bought enough linoleum to make 500 sets of mudflaps for £160.

When you think, you could go to Asda tomorrow and pay £30 for a DVD player, which contains motors, laser diodes, optical receivers, image processors, surround sound processors, amplifiers, hell even the remote control must be more complex and expensive to make than a sodding mudflap. OK it won't stop your paint from getting chipped, but your paint won't be getting chipped while your watching it

I'll go along with the £120 for a set of Front Brake Pads - AFTER their price drop! - now, come on Subaru .... thats plain STUPID!!

Have they ANY idea AT ALL how many Brake Pads they could sell if they marketed them at a, still high, £60 a set?

You just wouldn't bother buying from the Factors would you? Where they are priced from £18 to £50!

Think about it Subaru!
