So what's the crack with SVA'ing as a model report isn't avail for this car -yet? Beat's me... There must be a trick in place of the disabled 'loophole' now that that's been closed? I don't see it practical to install a cooker, sink or table & chairs to go the camper route?

Yes, STi's should have red top engines, and it's curious that there's no mention of DCCD in the spec list.

If the pictures are indeed of the car for sale, it's most likely to be a WRX Type R, not an STi. Thus, it's not as desirable, and either the seller's a bit clueless, or he's deliberately misrepresenting the car. Either way, there's enough of a grey area there to either leave well alone right now, or ask the seller some very serious questions before placing a bid.

There is no carbon front strut brace or IC water spray bottle either. Doesnt look like an STi version to me. Too much crappy aftermarket stuff chucked on to know what it is to be honest. A risky buy that isnt good value IMHO.

I agree when sellers discribe the limited version number that does seem more genuine.

If the auction's still open, get your post a comment or ask the seller about it.

And the "winner" is some chap called Rob Ramshaw by the look of things. Hope he registers on here before the car turns up, as would be interesting to see what happens when he realises the sale has been misrepresented.

The buyer is obviously not clued up enough to know what he's looking at, so the question then turns to whether the vendor is similarly clueless, or whether he/she has deliberately mis-described the car.

Anyone heard of "MDB Automotive" before, or fancy giving the guy a ring?

Also see that buyers can take out purchase protection in case the goods turn out to be "substantially different" from advertised, but only to the value of £120. Not much use in this case then.
