Help Needed
I have just put down a deposit on a 2001 wrx in sliver, with 29,000 miles on the clock, but i already drive a clio 172 mk2 and have had it from new, as i have never owned a scooby, just want to know if there will be much difference between the 2 cars, as thinking of canceling order of scooby,

Not alot in it IMHO & experience. A 2001 wrx is pretty disapointing to drive performance wise after the older scoobies but then again if you are prepared to chuck a bit of money at it, it is far more tunable than the Clio
Va Va Voooom........there nice cars, for girls.
01WRX power to weight similar to a Clio172, so what, the WRX is a better car.
In all diciplines.
Just remind me again, is the Clio front wheel drive, hmmm, say no more.

Have a re-think, sell your Clio in Hairdressers weekly, and buy a proper car, if your worried about the similar power/weight PPP it, or buy an STI and PPP that.

A car that no matter what mood youre in, will always put a smile on your face wether youre giving it just a little or alot of stick.
A very rewarding drive.
Once youve driven a scoob for a while, you will allways go back to one if you decide to sell the first one(if that makes sence).
Very good value for money.
Just a simple decat makes a huge difference.(I admit the std car feels bland-but not after a decat
)
Fitting a boost controller makes an even hugher difference!
I may sound biased, but ive had a few cars in my time, and my MY01WRX is the best(i sold my first scoob to get an M3 EVO,sold the M3 to get another scoob).A mate who drove mine even compared it to the race prepped boxer hes driven(admittedly not quite as quick though) and loved it.
Once you really get used to the scoob, you will really realise that its in a completely different league and to be honest, i cant understand how the two compare.

Did this this not show up the difference in roadholding/traction/all round driveability etc?
Mark
I have driven both extensively & yes the WRX is ahead in terms of handling, traction etc but in terms of everyday usability & fun factor & exploring its limits on the road without going at stupid speeds the Clio wins it for me. It also isn't fugly
Different cars, different driving styles.
Clio has very direct steering, close pedals, and feels like a go-kart (that's a compliment, by the way). Fantastic handling too, for a FWD. To get the best from the Clio, you hold the gears, and rev the variable valves like bu**ery.
With the scooby you're trying to keep the car on boost to get the best results. This means that 3rd geard gets used a lot, e.g: leaving the scenery standard from 60/70mph.
When you push a clio to the limits, it understeers, with the scooby it understeers or drifts. I don't mean RWD stylee drifting either, I mean all-wheel drifting (is that what AWD stands for?), which can be great fun/fun/scary/fu*king scary [delete as appropriate].
Then there's the luuuuvverly boxer throb (and no, that's not a sex toy).
