I was lucky to get hold of some tickets and was at the recordings on Wednesday afternoon.

Time for a whinge and exercise my right to an opinion.

70% of the new Top Gear is usually consist of stupid pub debate settling experiments. i.e how many bikes can a bus dive over @ 50 mph, what is the fastest celebrity in a mundane econo-box of car, what is the quickest 2 tonne 4X4 around a race track, what is the fastest religion?, fastest sci-fi villian etc...

I want more exotic cars per show, I want 1/4 mile drag in addition to track lap time for every performance car they test, I want legendary car/motorsport car designers and engineers to be featured in the show, I really don't care how many cars Jay Kay or Anne Robinson has, or that an X5 is 0.5 seconds quicker around a track than a Range Rover!

If I wanted to know how great a beefed up people carrier is, I'd read What Car? magazine, thank you very much!

I have only managed to get tickets for speed sunday (ITV).

Still think that as a regular slot they should do "Stig vs Tiff".
Every week they both do a flying lap in whatever car is being featured then average the times out at the end of the shows run.
They did this at the live MPH03 show & was great fun.

I'll let slip a little secret from top gears show on sunday.

The lotus exige is chased by an Apache gunship round the track. It is trying to lock a missile/rocket onto it, but the pilot fails to get a lock on. The pilot however said afterwards, the range was too close for missile/rocket and that's why he couldnt lock on. He replies, I would have used the machine gun and ripped the car apart in a hail of bullets had it been for real.

Sorry for spoiling it.

used to love the old Top Gear, but the New One??- tend to find it a good excuse to fall asleep after the boozer on a Sunday evening.......... Clarkson's like Frank Skinner, their both amusing on occassion but they are both style less squares trying far too hard to be what they perceive to be cool.

Re Top Gear - Its about cars. That's all I care about.

As a result of the programme, I also did not start laughing out loud when I saw an 04 reg Suzuki Liana saloon in metallic blue last week - even though it had a full bodykit and wing.
