Am I asking for trouble?

Am I asking for trouble?
I have been looking into getting a car to replace my Evo VI for some time and have decided on probably an import R33 GTR or maybe a TT Supra. My budget means that I will be looking at getting either a 95 or 96 model car. This has got me thinking, is it financial suicide to even consider getting a high performance vehicle, with near un-determinable history, that is coming up to nearly ten years old?
I know both of the above cars are strong and have good reputations, but will the age of the car mean that, despite low mileage, things are gonna start going wrong, or need replacing on a regular basis?
My heart says go for it, but my head screams noooooo!!
Can anyone offer any help, comments or experience on the following?
Many thanks guys,
Martin.

I think as long as you can find a good reliable specialist for servicing/parts you should be ok. The only random factor is, as you say, the car's history and this can be a bit pot-luck I'm afraid. If you can find a decent local specialist it may be worthwhile to get them to check the car out prior to your purchase, they should be able to spot common / major problems.

hi mate all i can say to you is make sure its no later than dec 96 because there are no modelreports available for these models. as regarding the cars you know you want to get the skyline, because the supra is very tailhappy in the wet and tramlines loads id go for the skyline
