Unhappy WRX Cutting out - help!

My 03 WRX is doing something odd.

If I corner real hard, like round a R-A-B or a hard 90 or similar when I get on the gas there is a huge hesitation, the revs drop and then suddenly the power is back and off I go. (almost like the fuel is shut off)

Its done it 3 times now. The first time I thought it was becuase I was low on fuel (maybe 10L in the tank) but tonight I got the problem twice (on RABs) and I had about 25L in the tank.

Anyone else get the same problem? Is it a known problem?

Zillions of posts on fuel surge, do search.

I get it all the time (01WRX), quarter of a tank, right hander, on the power, 'boom', through the windsreen, then 'boom' 3-4 seconds later back on the power.

You need a "swirl pot" so they say.......

Default Oh Yes!

Yes, a couple of seconds after hard cornrering on roundabouts with anything less than 1/2 tank has caused this in the past for me.
MY02 STI. I don't do that anymore with less than 30L of fuel in the tank.

You need to fit a swirl pot but I stand to be corrected.

Ive found it scary on two points:

1: Mr Saxo boy complete with reversed baseball cap, and 'bad boy' sun strip, three inches from my rear bumper. Floor the car in second, make a bit of a gap, snick third accellerate hard through roundabout 'boom' cuts out on full throttle on the exit, Mr Saxo nearly enters my boot, then 'boom' back on the power. Makes you look as though you cant drive, Im not the best jockey as it is...

2: Dont know much about how fuel, air, and ignition works, but from what Ive read this lack of fuel, then sudden injection of fuel ***** your car. Maybe someone with more than one brain cell can remind me. Does it 'lean it out', cant remember.

This was the classic scoobynet thread on the issue, but I don't understand why it seems to have the original post (and many others) missing.
