Question - ECU remap on Import for UK fuel?
As you will see I'm new to all this, but excellent forum......
In run a MY02 WRX IMPORT and have seen the thousands of discussions around the grade of fuel to run these beggers on. Without starting another discussion on what you lot run yours on, I have not yet found the answer to........
As part of an ECU remap, can it be setup to use the UK grade of fuel? If I get mine remapped, will it be "happy" to run on Optimax alone, without the need for the Octane Booster to reach the 100?
I'd like understand the cost diffences between Booster or remap. There probably will be a drop in the ole' BHP if the adjustment to Optimax is available, but would like to understand all the various options out there.
Cheers

Yes, it's certainly possible. If you get a custom remap the mapper could map to 95 RON supermarket unleaded if you wanted him to...!
As you say, there'll be a small theoretical power drop involved if it's mapped for Opti or SUL instead of 100/102, but you're then free of the necessity to run booster.
