So your in London and dont mind traveling. Well heres one for ya Tuning japanese aka SAS Performance. I'm trust these guys implicitly. Talk the job through with you from start to finish, Keep all components for your inspection. Professional to the end.
There's also an out fit in Uxbridge, Middlesex, but can i remember there name I know they have a web site so as soon as i remember i'll put it up for you. Someone must know who i mean i'm sure.

If the job involves removing the gearbox and replacing one or more of the seals. £500 may well be a fair price. If you tell us exactly where you think the oil's coming from, we might be able to give you a better idea what the repair cost should be.

Which gearbox seal? If you mean the input shaft seal, it's a gearbox removal and strip job to replace. £500 not altogether unreasonable assuming it's done right and warrantied. If it's one of the front driveshaft seals, it's a fairly quick job to replace and £500 is well OTT.
Camcover gasket on its own probably £100-£150 to do based on normal garage rates.
