Default Will a change of exhaust (back box only) stuff my warranty?

As above, thinking of changing the exhaust on an MY04 STi to a Ninja??

Any warranty problems?
Is the OEM STi box any good?
Will the Ninja be that much different?

Cheers

I'll answer the warranty question. It's always a grey area regarding non Subaru mods, but the general feeling is that a back box would not affect a claim for lets say an electric window motor. But if the engine was to blow then IM would have the right to refuse the claim. It would be up to you to prove that the back box did not cause the engine blow up which could prove costly to you. All IMO etc.

I had this debate when i changed mine. The short answer is YES it does affect your warranty, and to this extent i plumped for the W R Sport back box. I have to say I am very pleased with it, and think it sounds good. I particually wanted a burble but not an out and out noise machine, I think I have the balance right to suit my taste. You can only buy what you see as fit for you. I was prepared to lose the warranty on the exhaust for the right sound, but felt I could not do without the complete warranty package. Mine is a 53plate wagon btw.
