Angry Bloody Boy Racers

Hi everyone, the new boy here. I,ve had my scoob turbo a week now and love it to bits, just can't seem to leave it alone. The only problem I havewith it is all the little W****rs in there saxos and corsas trying to race me. Now I'm not and old fuddy duddy and will give them a run for their money at the best of times but when my 5 year old daughters in the car I'm not interested. When will they get it into there thick little heads they'll never beat a scooby.Wow I'm feeling better already.

speedy, you will have to get used to it mate, if you give in,and take them on every now and again then they are allways going to push you (they dont know or care who's in your car)
Best thing to do is drive like an old granny around these little punks and they will leave you alone soon enough and save your lead right foot drivers/cars who will appreciate a tussle

the psychology of the boy racer is strange. I know one with a 1.4 westcoast saxo (had 3 clutches, engine shagged) and i have a 2ltr stage 2 GT6 and all he can say is "when we gunna race?"
It wouldnt be much of a race really. Whats up with them?

I got it last night from a lad at work who had a xk8 Jag.

He was giving it all the "it's got 400 bhp ,super charged ,limited to 150 mph, etc"

Didn't have the hart to tell him that it weighs about two and a half tone , handles like a brick and with it being an auto it will be quick but it wont be that quick.

Had a look in EVO and it's 0-60 time is 5.2 ,EVO list the WRX PPP as 4.8 0-06 and a top speed of 150.

I'll have to take EVO in to work

That should wipe the smile off his smirking face...

I get it I'm afraid. Never rise to them though, why should I waste my petrol for their benefit! I find just looking at them and then their car then back to them with a "I don't think so..." smirk then slowly driving off seems to work though!!!

Micky,

If I'm right, your scoob is the red and white one that is a tad different. I think this makes them worry a little. :-)

I like driving through Rotherham town centre where all the nova boys are, couple of scoobs as well, with her-in-doors wearing her baseball cap for the laf. I make sure I do exactly the speed limit everywhere.

P1SSES THEM OFF BIG TIME!!!!!!

But when they want to race I have to play with them now and again. I let them try and come past me then boot it until they pull back in then slow down again. I giggle my ***** f*cking **** off!!!!

I really should get a sticker made up to stick in my rear window

Something like:
"I don't race **** cars like your saxo/nova"

or "hey, please drive closer up my ****. So I can get you to pay for the scratch on my rear bumper when I test my brakes"

Default Beat this

Anyone that knows the swindon area.
I was driving back from Lechlade which is a fast road but with some blind bends, and a tw*t and his foul piece tried to destroy me in a .............wait for it............................Smart Coupe! With the roof down for greater down force i think!
I may be wrong, but they have a turbo i think. Its got the same power output as the Doreens hair drier, not as quick a spool up time as her drier though and the 0-60 of a grave stone! which is what he is heading towards driving like that!
Why even bother?

Stick to just below the speed limits and watch them get frustrated, backing off and speeding. and pulling of fast at a set of lights, then pulling off slow at the next and seeing then nearly hitting your rear bumper!

I have had lots of problems with boy racers tailgating etc so I thought pimp tintz would stop the little tw*ts but no!! it's just that having a pregnant woman in the scoob and driving fast is just not going to happen so i had a sign made for the boot "pregnant woman in scoob" this does the trick!
but a few little feckwhitts still have a pop at the lights ........ how do you stop em????? just blatantly fall about laughing at their motor and don't even rise to the bait!!!

I used to own a Jag XJR, in a straight line it was like a rocket. I timed mine at around 12.5 secs to 100.

Hope you've got a powerful scooby!!!!

I can't wait for my Brembo's to bed in to see their (i've just **** myself) faces in my rear mirror when I hit the ankers at roundabouts.
Pointless making it go fast kiddies if you cant slow the bag of ****e down quick enough.

Don't race them. The sight of a scooby and evo seem to inspire fearlessness and I once had a Fiesta overtaking us (in an Evo) on a blind bend. Any encouragement could therefore only make matters worse, not just endangering them but other drivers too.

This was my opinion about them until my step dad took me out in his... I wouldnt like to have a go against it. Dont believe everything you read...oh and you really think you'll notice the 0.4 of a seconds difference???

As for the rest of the thread, the way I see it is: I dont feel I have a point to prove, I dont need to accelerate from traffic lights to traffic lights to know how quick my car is and I certainly dont need to prove myself or my car to chav scum with Burberry caps to get their "respect". Anyone can push a peddal and "hold" the car in a straight line

And Im sure that a nova with a stage 3, 2ltr turbo conversion would be quite quick, you never know whats under the hood. How silly would you feel gettin seen off by a nova??

J

Oh, dont race in towns, pedestrians have a habit of wanting to cross the roads, especially drunk ones on a Friday or Saturday night... get on a track (like the m25 )

Well he's a plonka then inhe!

Tell ya something else about them big numb lookin Jags, they actually handle alot better than they look if driven well (me step dad used to rally drive!!), I was very suprised.

But at the end of the day, yer mate aint gonna leave ya for dead but there again, you probably wont leave him for dead either. Oh, and if he says its got a 'charger on it, its an XKR not an XK8, might be worth checkin the figures again.

Ali - I think this idea is bril! I might do just that. BTW some people drive close up because they wanna good look at the car though.
It would be better if it was an illuminated sign that went up when it was a saxo/nova/
