It's the stuff used on rally cars. They had a stand at JapFest (or might have been Rally Day) last year, so no doubt will again this year. Can go check it in the flesh

I was thinking of getting In touch with Scott Lowe regarding red Mud Flaps and seeing how many would need to be ordered for him to produce some. I am interested how many others would be?

Cutting the material is easy, VERY sharp pair of scissors and care to not make it look shyte.
There are templates on the Ravensblade Impreza site http://www.ravensblade-impreza.com/
Midland performance are here http://www.m-p-c.demon.co.uk/mpcmudflaps.html
You will probs need to knock up some brackets to hold against the back of inner arch, but these are on the ravensblade site too!

ok.. As per Sidhead's post above:
i had the orginal STi mudflaps on my car. were on it when i bought it. i have just replaced them as they went pink and were quite worn and mis-shaped (from track use and hard cornering).
the cost of genuine STi flaps is about £170 a pair i believe - that includes brackets etc. i just bought a set of 4 mudflaps (new) for £30 - £15 a pair. obviously i re-used the orginal pattern (cut to shape) and brackets from my STi ones, but the brackets aren't 100% necessary IMO.
i think the mudlfaps can be fit direct to the arch/bumper and only 1 straight piece of SS or alloy metal (perhaps even hards acrylic) is required (per flap) to ensure it sits rigidly behind each wheel.
try MPC. their supplier took 3 weeks to get them to me, which was a little annoying, but i have to say that i am totally satisfied with the product - its very flexible, heavy enough to hang right and easy to cut with a Stanley knife.
i took some pics, but can't get them online until Wednesday (software and cable is at work) if you want to see them first. that is unless you're local to Nottingham. but take my word for it, they look well!
hope this helps.

I wouldn't mind a copy of the templates too if it's not too much bother.
Just an outline on a bit of paper of front and back with relevant hole positions would do.
Cheers,
Andy.

I'm interested. How much are they likely to be if we get 10 people who are interested? You can email my profile if you'd rather not post the price in this thread (if you don't mind )

Red Ones are more difficult to find as no one produces them hence the idea of a group buy.

had the briefest of looks at Ravensblade's site (Exterior), but didn't spot the flaps - sp cannot confirm that they are the same. you should know that my car is a classic Scoob (i'm assuming yours is too?). i believe new age Scoobs have slightly different patterns.
i still have my original STi flaps and can make a template from them (on A3 paper) to suit the MPC materials (as I did with mine). i am just about to upload some pics and will insert them here......
cheers,
Kevin

As promissed here are some templates for the mudflaps as requested.
The 295 - 300 measurement is the uncut width of the flaps as supplied by MPC. Mine measured 295, but I have allowed an extra 5mm for any variation or inconsistency.
Cheers,
Kev
