Newbie Scoobie!
Hi all! Not long had my car and am now getting used to what it can do (ie, it's stopped frightening me , huge differance after having an FTO). I've got a '96 WRX V-limited (import) and am thinking of a few wee mods. The exhaust on it is pretty dam big, so I pretty it's an aftermarket one. What sort of performance mod.s would be good to start with? Was thinking of an induction kit, then dump valve. Not having a clue on any names/manufactures, I seek your advices, if I may?
Being a former FTO spotter, I have no knowledge on Scoobies. Any ideas?
(Will be attending Japfest, so hoping to meet some of you likeminded owners there)

Unless your gonna do some serious (400bhp+) mods then don't bother with the induction kit. They just suck hot air from the engine bay and can reduce power unless you fit appropriate ventilation. They also introduce lots of vibration which can kill the MAF sensor. Also, if the attatched filter is too oily, this can contaminate the MAF. Sound nice though
As for DV's, you've already got one that works fine. It's just a recirc instead of VTA or blow-off. VTA's fool the AFR sensor into overfueling, which in time can lead to bore wash and major engine failure. Sound nice though

"£2000 + please" wont sound very nice when the engines in bits.
Try to leave it as standard as possible.
If you realy want to increase power then get a remappable ecu (Apexi,Motec etc) and a good tuner who knows his stuff .
You will need this before considering any mods in anycase.

Cheers for the replies guys! Had an ITG induction on my FTO which improved throttle responce (sounded pretty good too), thats where that idea came from. Dump valves sound pretty cool too.
Thanks for your warnings ! I shall leave it how it is!
