Turbo dying
I'm also interested in hearing any opinions on this aswell.
my MY01 wrx turbo is on its way out I think.
even when the oil is up to temp, the first time i boot it ,it sounds like ermm
the best way to describe it is it sounds like a lollipop stick in some bicycle spokes, if you know what I mean, but second time of turbo use and there after is fine. but if I drive off boost for too long then go back on ,then first time I get the noise again, but fine again after.

My old Montego Turbo, (don't take the ****!!!) went t*ts up, this showed by massive smoking on overrun, and after ticking over for a while, abit like failing valve stem oil seals. My 420 gsi turbo went too (unlucky are'nt I) this showed up up by a metallic clicking on boost, due to a crack in the turbine housing which the impeller was just touching. Hoe this helps a bir!!
