300bhp
If you get heat soak then it will be less than these figures (so leave your bonnet open and let the air get in there )
Plus you have to take into account that rolling roads are not THAT accurate, the cars drivability on the road is what really counts

To get 300bhp@wheels id suspect you would need an engine rebuild on a V6 sti engine, the later engines are stronger and the ecu more accommodating for errors. (300@wheels would equate to around 360@fly).

Chances are that your car wont be pushing 300bhp to start with though
Is yours a 4 door ABS equipped car?

I got a Sti ver4 Type R with a K&N Panel filter, fuel pressure reg, Walbro fuel pump, TD04 Turbo (previous owner fitted), Scoobymania exhaust and decat downpipe and with a standard ecu its pushing 305bhp and 305lbft. Its bloody rapid as is. Are you not happy with your version 6 mate.

Why you want 300 at the wheels have you thought about the extra stress on the gearbox and clutch. and the increase in insurance. Mine has one up a fair bit with those mods on.

TD04 Turbo?
are you sure?
These turbos wont flow much over 280bhp, its also small and lacks top end bite (plus your torque wont be anywhere near as good as stated)
Id check the housing again, its probably a TD05.

I should state that if you are running a full decat and different exhaust on the standard ecu id fit a knocklink, you need the ecu remapping as the sti 5's ecu doesnt react well to mods.

Hi Tony.

I was very confused when i first saw the Turbo too mate and checked it twice and also got Harvey to look at it and he confirmed it was a TD04. It surprised alot of people when on the rollers it got the figures it did. Also the knocklink is fitted and I haven`t had any or very little det altho I am running optimax and a fair bit of NF to every tank. I currently have a GEMS ecu and mapping organised for the 14th of May, but am hoping to get a differrent turbo before then either an origianl VF24 or a VF23 or even a TD05 then at a later date get it converted to a TD05/06 FE.

Would be nice to get an original VF24 turbo to see the difference on the car.

I reckon the TD05 might be able to give me around 330bhp and with the map maybe 350bhp. Its also got the 440 injectors fitted so the TD05 should be ok with them apparently, Altho any advcie is welcome

Hmmm still
could it be that the housing is from a tdo4 but it has something a little different inside? (hybrid??)

Possibly but it doesnt seem to wanna get past 305bhp so its definitely gonna get changed at some point. Dont think there would be anyway of checking what been done inside. its developed on two different occasions 293bhp and 305lbft then we changed the exhaust and got 305lbft and 305bhp the curves tho were completely different oh just remembered I also got Harvey to port my headers aswell

Unless its a V6 Type R or RA you are looking at 200 at the wheels max

If I am right a VF24 is standard fit to a VErsion 4 STi and a VF 23 is from the version three which shared the turbo of a 22b and the VF 28 was from a STI 5 - 6. Thanks Mickey for confirming its def a TD04 mate. Same as what you got on yours isnt it?
