Question Passed MOT but CO emissions high. Any suggestions please?

As per title. The car was o.k. on idle but reading was high at 2,500 rpm.Took
the car for a blast mid way through the MOT as requested by the tester but it didn't make any difference. The tester suggested the car was overfuelling so I contacted the dealer I use and bought the car from and he said if it was overfuelling the check warning light would probably come on.
MY 00, standard, mainly used for short journeys having covered only 4k in the last year. 27k on the clock at the moment.
I will book the car into the garage for a check soon but it's a round trip of around 100 miles so I would be grateful for any suggestions as to what the problem could be meanwhile. Many thanks

Agree mate, I had the same problem. MY 99(T) UK Turbo
Bought a new one from a car discount store (approx £40-£50)and fitted it myself, there easy to do - if i remember correctly, remove when engine is cold, but becareful not to strip threads. then there are only three wires to join - 2 white and one black(signal). Sometime heatshiel can be pain to move to get access.

hope this helps

Hopefully the warranty will cover any parts.
