Question How much wrap do I need for a downpipe?

I remember seeing a thread about wrapping downpipes but I can't find it now. I have a H&S decat downpipe which I want to wrap before I fit it.

The 50mm Cooltek exhaust wrap from www.proven-products.co.uk/products/cooltek.htm looks OK, but how much will I need?

Any ideas if 10m will be enough, or should I get 15m to be sure?

Cheers

I used two boxes of that stuff! The 2" wide wrap - also used the paint spray to spray the thing after I lagged it. If you want some pics before, during and after drop me an email to mattyseeuk@yahoo.co.uk

Lagging it is definately worth it as it gets rid of the tinny/raspy noise you get from a S/S downpipe.

I used 20m on mine, it doesn`t seem to go very far.

your Dp's must look like 1970's plumbing with all that laggin, We managed to do 2 dp's and have some left over from a 30m roll following the instructions ie having two layers overlap.

Cheers for the photo's cinders.

Thanks for all the other replies too. There seems to be some conflicting opinions but I think I'll go for 15m with ties and some paint too.

I'll post the results too.
