What's that Subaru pickup called?
Not the recent, legacy based one, but the older one with the kinda curved back half?
Are they any good, or is it a heap of **** like a lot of old Scoobs?
Anyone had one?
The Rangie has to go, as it's not half uneconomical, so I'm looking for inspiration

it was called a brat i think. my boss had one. I think it was 1600cc, selectable 4wd and thrashed xr3i's (in the wet ) great little motor that ran on old heater oil for about 10k after we thought the engine was knackered. after it failed the mot on something obscure we shot at it, thrashed it around a farm and drove it into a river..... and it was still running fine!

'Brat'...lol What a name.
Should I get one? Quite cheap these days as well...
I'm really just after something interesting, that'll be reasonably economical, & a hopefully 4x4. I thought about a Justy as well, although they're erm...not very nice
I was thinking about getting another Land Rover, but they're pretty terrible on the motorway,so that's out for now.
I'd get another Impreza GL, only I'm trying to save a bit of money, & just get something fairly tame until the insurance goes down a bit

We had one years ago (early eighties IIRC) and it was bloody brilliant. The passenger side floor was rotten through, but it was still great. Rare as rocking horse crap though. Stick an Impreza Turbo engine and watch it go!

Known as the MV in the UK - has a 1.8 OHV boxer and switchable 4wd (poss d/range can't remember). Great on the rough stuff, uber reliable but early 80's interior and build quality.

We had one of these at work years ago before Subaru was a household name even. It was fantastic, it just went and went. It got some serious abuse from all those who drove it, but it was virtually indestructable. And then some bugger nicked it !!
