My first scooby
I have wanted a Subaru for quite a while but not got around to getting one due to travelling a lot with work. But now I will be at home for the summer and its time to get a scoob.
My budget is 10-15k and I would prefer a newer shape car if possible, but maybe the older shape if its a better spec.
I have driven quite a lot of fast cars and currently own a 185mph Corvette and also 2 caterham's so will want something that I can either mod to maybe 250 - 260bhp or something that is more like that to start with. Dont want anything with big body kit etc as it needs to be low profile if that is possible...
I have been for a test drive in a WRX and STi - liked both and would prob go for the WRX and get PPP added at some point.
So what do you think? Newer WRX or older STi? ('tother half prefers older STi)

Yeah I saw that on the trader the other day. The wheels and rear lights put me off a bit but other than that looks good - and close to me as I am in the NW.
Has anyone used Warrander before?

when you say 'newer shape ' do you mean the current (blob eye) shape ?
or the one before (the bug eye) . For your price range at the bottom end (10to 11k) you will be able to get one of the last classic shape with low milage. For a little more you will be in 'bug eye' wrx territory and at the higher end (15k) you should be able to pick up a higher milage new shape wrx (blob eye). I guess it comes down to taste at the end of the day , and how much cash you want to keep in the bank

I dont mind the blob or bug - LOL!
I think I actually prefer the one with the round lights rather than the very latest one. Is there any massive engine differences that make it better to get one or the other?

I think that when the bug eye came out the feeling was that it had put on a bit of weight and was a bit slower than the classic , and that the new blob eye has corrected that a bit to give the new car something back
