A cool off period after you have been out for a blast is always recommended (should say on drivers door) so afew people get turbo timers fitted, the other is not to rag your car from cold, it takes around 5 miles for the oil to get up to temperature, slightly more on a cold day.

following on from Tony's post, pay no attention to the dash temp gauge in terms of guessing when to rag it. As Tony rightly says, it takes a fair while to get your oil up to temp, when my temp guage is normally warm, i.e. half way, my oil temp guage hasn't even woken up yet..!

Start off with the usual car maintenance stuff, keeping an eye on oil/water levels. Treat it to decent oil (fully synthetic please ) give it nice stuff to drink Optimax or SUL (remembering to add some OB if it's an import) gentle warm-ups as said before and a good cool down procedure.
