Just got a call from my wife to say that the postman has just delivered my newly ordered MAF Sensor from my local Scooby dealer its for a MY00. However it was delivered in a Jiffy type envelope but the Postman apparently tried to wedge the sensor through the Letter Box !! By the time my missus got to the door he had just opened the front door and literally threw it inside !! WTF.

Anyway the envelope wasn't marked with Fragile by the dealer which I am not too happy about but surely all this malarky has no doubt screwed the MAF ? My wife tells me that on inspection it looks fine - no apparent damage just the box that it came in has been crushed ! I think the end part of the sensor probably stopped it from being put through the door. If it is shot (which is more than likely....cos vibration alone can kill these can it not ?) then should I get onto the Post Office or Subaru dealer.

I doubt if vibration can kill them, think of what it goes through on a bumpy country road blast!

More likely than not it is OK. The vane itself is well protected.
