Doomed to a life with my Scoobie?
I have been looking around to change my car as its now approaching 4 years old. I have a MY00 Impreza Wagon Turbo and it suits me fine ...... I've bought a fun car (a MX5) for the summer days ....... BUT I've got no debts and I have a wad burning a hole in my pocket!
Now, first stop - Impreza - but the new wagon just doesn't inspire me, I know there are remarkable deals on the wagons at the moment and you can get them for less than the saloons ...... but it still doesn't cut it for me!
Looked around at other cars, difficult to find one to beat what I have got - AND - they want my Impreza PLUS about £8-9k!! Their cars just aren't even worth a straight swap let alone me PAY them money too!!
I think I chose the exact right car 4 years ago and it remains so! Hence, I think I am doomed to life with my Scooby!
Aint' life a bitch?!
Pete

I've got a MY99 scoob wagon, 83,500 miles, and it's ace. Rattly interior, but......
Fancy a saloon with fewer miles on it.
Any hoo, they're fantastic cars, and the newer models are just plain ugly. Which is maintaining their second hand value.

Mine was rattly for about 2 weeks - it drove me mad, so I carefully stuck 5mm thick rubber where the plastic trim meets the body ...... no more rattles!!
I just feel like a change, nowt wrong with mine - far from it! Its just loosening up at 48kmiles! Its going better now than it ever has (I am now getting the rewards for careful driving and mechanical sympathy!)
I wish it wasn't so damned good!!

Pete, holy cr*p for once I can feel sympathy for you! My 5 year old 22B is the bane of my life, it's fecked me for other cars. Hell I've even bought a 911 but kept the damn scooby 'cos it's soo much fun (and has a bigger boot, and seats 5)
Run it 'till the wheels fall off..it can't cost you anything any more as they are worthless now anyway...so no depreciation to worry about.

surely the impreza is more fun than the mx5, mx5's are for hair dressers! (yep i'm opening my self up for some flaming!)
a TVR would be my preference for a fun summer car though, they look so damn good and go so damn quick!
good tip for the interior though, mine rattles like a goodun!

Know what ya mean mate ! I've not kept a car for 4 years EVER and now I can't think that I'll ever swap... Unfortunately, I've done 103000 miles and I'm doing about 30K a year, so It'll have to go (or replace engine/box) soon....
SUBARU - Are you there - Give us new 22Bs....... That look as good as the old ones....

I'm about to email Litchfield to see if the possibility exists for them to do a Wagon version, in lieu of a Sti model coming from Japan. If they see that there is sufficient demand, they may build one.

Don't know what a T25 is? I don't 'do' Imports anyway - no resale value in them!
